We call ourselves the INNOVASIANS. A class of fifty-seven (57) intrepid company owners from various industries and family generations. Unbeknownst to the future of the Philippine economy as the wrath of the invisible threat of COVID-19 unfolded in the year 2020, took the cudgels of online learning and formed a fraternal bond with a commitment to focus on a specific segment [but not limited to] in our society – Quality Education for the Filipino Youth.
Initially, we asked ourselves: “Was the pandemic a bane or a boon? Should we proceed in pursuing our ME degree?”, but in the process, we realized the power of choice….and the rest was history. And despite the rigors of our academics, we endured the 18-month academic program with a balance of grit, tenacity, and socio-civic service as we identified and visited various underprivileged communities all over the Philippines in pursuit of identifying their needs, uncovering their challenges so that the Government may bridge these identified gaps and address the struggles of this marginalized segments of our society.
We had to make ourselves counted during these crucial times for our country.

Outreach Activities
As the pandemic exposed the limitations of social healthcare, disrupted world economies, and redefined how we socialize, it created an opportunity to serve even beyond the geographic borders of our society; thus, paving the way for us to mobilize our aggregated resources in serving various communities such as in Basilan, Lanao Del Norte, Benguet, and other remote areas during our ME Journey….and even beyond.
The Innovasians has gone a long way from intently finishing a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, as it has now evolved into a unique band of a socially immersed class who responded to the clarion call and heeded to the service for the Filipino people through advocacy of alleviating the plight of the socially compromised sectors of our society particularly in the delivery of quality education; as we strongly believed that instead of wallowing in the comforts of our businesses, it is better to stay in its fringes through various acts of volunteerism where life is more profound and meaningful.
As the widening disparity between the economically privileged versus the majority of Filipino children is evident, we believe that Education as a bridge to social emancipation remains to be an elusive elixir of hope in a third-world country like the Philippines as quality education (local and international) is mostly available to a privileged few and the above social classes of our society. And it is our commitment as Innovasians to constantly complement the efforts of the Government, and act as a beacon of hope in order to advocate that education should be at the forefront towards economic prosperity for the Filipinos.
As we chronicle these life-long adventures of service through a coffee table book so it may be told that once there was a pandemic, and a firebrand group of entrepreneurs who called themselves the Innovasians made the choice to be counted when the economy was at its knees and pursued advocacy as a tool coupled with the tenets of our Asian Institute of Management (AIM) education to make a difference through various acts of volunteerism.
Finally, echoing to the August halls of our beloved alma mater that, “To be at Asian Institute of Management is not to become the nation’s privileged and elite, to be at AIM is to uncover the nation’s malaise, bridge those challenges and be the hope of the Filipino people”.
Proud to be an Innovasian!
