Community Entrepreneurship Through Sustainable Innovation
A typical farmer wakes up in the early hours of dawn and dispatches his rickety truck to the Nueva Vizcaya Agriculture Trade (NVAT), where traders from all over the province beat each other over quality, quantity, and best price to market. Unfortunately, the odds are always against him; thus, either he sells at a loss or returns to Mt. Pulag Community with his produce with less due to damages incurred during the trip.
The Innovasians uncovered this problem and, once again consolidated our efforts to assist through a Community Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation program —THE KIMCHI PROJECT.
With our de facto mindset of continued advocacy to enable communities with sustainable entrepreneurial skills, we assisted the Mt. Pulag Community in making their own Kimchi Product.
The flavorful aroma of traditional Kimchi spices blended with a bit of sweetness exuding naturally from the fresh produce of the community vegetable gardens creates a unique flavor that can be distinctly considered an original Mt. Pulag Kimchi.
Also assisted them technically using cost-effective drones equipped with Software Development Kits (SDK) that allow measurement of ubiquitous and disparate vegetable gardens and estimate their produce to avoid waste in production costs.
We can replicate this business model to further promote sustainable agriculture in more communities all around the Philippines.
