ODETTE RELIEF OUTREACH IN LEYTE AND CEBU

Typhoon Odette struck a massive blow to Visayas and Mindanao, resulting in severe damage to various provinces in Surgao, Southern Leyte, Cebu Province, Bohol, and portions of Negros among many others. Impassable roads. Fallen trees and electric posts. Destroyed homes, offices, and buildings. No electricity, water, or food. These were just some of the realities experienced by thousands of families due to the typhoon. Surigao City, one of the worst hit cities, had people looting groceries due to the lack of food and water available in town.

Given the batch mission to help fellow Filipinos in time of need, the Innovasians mobilized our resources to help affected towns and provinces in the Vis-Min region. With the help of Eli’s wife Rhea Janice Go-Lao who runs a supermarket operator in the most underserved areas around Visayas and Mindanao, the batch pledged donations used in the relief operations in the areas most affected by Typhoon Odette. The #PadayonVISMIN operation was able to organize, pack, and distribute relief packs to 1,000+ families. Truly, the Filipino spirit of bayanihan prevails in times of calamity.
